$100,000 Ring Earners
Military, Physical Therapist
I was introduced to LegalShield more than 18 years ago by a gentleman at a local chamber of commerce meeting. I was working full time as a physical therapist, raising my three daughters by myself. We had soccer four nights a week and games on weekends. I was also a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. I was not only overwhelmed with my schedule, but I was also so tired all the time that I actually fell asleep at the wheel TWICE! In the second accident, I did not wake up until the air bag had deployed in my face. It was only a matter of time before I would fall apart, but I had no clue that I had any options.
My life became more and more oppressive. My daughters were growing up without me, and I was never there to be a mother OR a friend to them. It broke my heart, and I prayed that somehow I would get my life back and be able to be there for my girls—the lights of my life.
When I learned about the legal plan, I immediately saw the value because I had actually called a lawyer to write a letter to someone who owed me money, and he wanted more than $200! Two of my three daughters were driving at the time, and my car insurance was astronomical! I also needed to update my Will. I decided to supplement my income by offering the services to people I knew.
My passion for the business grew, and I followed the system and adjusted my schedule to attend the weekly briefings, and I also went to Group School. I took a half-day of vacation from my job to present to a group of 12 employees, and 8 signed up. During my third year in the business, 9/11 happened, and I was called to active duty by the U.S. Air Force. The great part of the business is that I had income coming in WHILE I was serving on active duty. I started to take two or three vacations a year! In fact, during my sixth year in the business, I was in a gondola at a ski area in Colorado when I received a call from the Home Office telling me that I had earned my LegalShield ring! A few years later, my renewal income outpaced my advance income, so I turned OFF the advances and am now living on my renewal income.
I now have six grandchildren, and two were born with special needs. In March 2015, I had expected to spend three days on an air mattress at my middle daughter’s house, and it turned into three weeks because they found out that baby Hannah had tuberous sclerosis and had tumors on her brain and her heart. In June 2015, she had brain surgery, and I spent much more time at her house. Both months I had very little personal production because I was able to put FAMILY FIRST, yet I still had my income! And my granddaughter Peyton has developmental delays that are significant, with many, many doctors’ visits, yet no diagnosis. Again, I have been able to give something I could never give any of my girls when they were growing up—my TIME. I know in my heart if I had a traditional job, I never would have been able to do what I have done over the past several years. And because of LegalShield, I have been able to develop a special bond with my youngest daughter, Brittany, since she grew up with many, many LegalShield friends who love her. I believe the personal development that is part of LegalShield has helped give her special strength to get through the hard times with her daughter Peyton the past two years.
I hold our founders, Harland and Shirley Stonecipher, in my heart, and their FAITH has always inspired me, especially Mr. Stonecipher’s scripture-based keynote addresses and his frequent references from Jeremiah: “I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” I am looking forward to the FUTURE of LegalShield with our amazing CEO Jeff Bell, our top leaders, Mark Brown and our great Board of Directors. It’s so exciting to be part of a CRUSADE, and I do believe the best is yet to come.
